Our FundingPips review

Overview

FundingPips is a proprietary trading evaluation company that started operating in November 2022 and is run from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, under chief executive Khaled Ayesh. In a little over three years it has become one of the most-reviewed prop firms on Trustpilot, largely by pricing its challenges well below the long-established names and by giving traders a menu of payout schedules. Like every firm of this kind, FundingPips sells access to a simulated evaluation: you pay a fee, trade a demo account under fixed risk rules, and, if you pass, receive a funded ("Master") account on which you are paid a share of simulated profits.

The firm focuses on forex and CFDs (currencies, metals, indices, energy and a small crypto offering). It does not offer futures. Residents of a few countries, including Iran, Vietnam and the UAE itself, are listed as restricted by third-party reviews, and US traders were at the centre of the firm's 2024 platform problems, so check eligibility before buying.

Regulation, safety and track record

FundingPips is not a regulated broker or investment firm, and no financial regulator supervises its evaluations or payouts; WikiFX lists it as holding no verified financial licence. That is normal for the prop-challenge industry, but it means the terms of service, not a regulator, govern any dispute. Your exposure is the fee you pay, not trading capital.

The most significant incident came in February 2024, when MetaQuotes withdrew MetaTrader access because FundingPips had onboarded US-based accounts. The firm paused services, its liquidity/technology partnership with BlackBull Markets ended, and Ayesh publicly blamed MetaQuotes while promising compensation. FundingPips later resumed on alternative platforms and today again lists MT5 alongside cTrader, Match-Trader and TradeLocker. Beyond that event, forum threads (for example on Forex Peace Army) describe denied payouts and Master-account closures tied to rule breaches, including a 2025 case where an account was closed after a third-party provider restricted access. Trustpilot nevertheless shows a high average (around 4.5/5) from a very large sample, and secondary sources cite well over $180 million in payouts, a figure we could not verify against an official audit.

Challenge types and rules

As of November 2026 FundingPips runs five main models. Rules below are taken from recent third-party summaries and the firm's help centre; they change often, so confirm them on the official site before you buy.

  • 2-Step Standard ($5K–$100K): 8% then 5% target, 5% daily loss, 10% static maximum loss, at least 3 trading days. The profit split depends on the payout schedule you choose: 60% weekly, 80% bi-weekly, 90% on demand or 100% monthly.
  • 2-Step Pro ($5K–$200K): 6% in each phase, 3% daily and 6% maximum loss, weekly payouts at 80%.
  • 2-Step Flex ($5K–$100K): 10% then 6% targets, 4% daily and 12% maximum loss, 85% split (95% with three profitable days).
  • 1-Step Flex ($5K–$100K): 12% target, 3% daily and 12% static maximum loss, 85% bi-weekly.
  • Zero (instant funding, $5K–$200K): no evaluation, 3% daily and 5% end-of-day trailing loss, 95% split, with the first 3% of profit held as a buffer and a requirement of seven profitable days per cycle.

There is no time limit on any phase. A 45% consistency rule applies to on-demand payouts. Leverage is up to 1:100 on FX for challenge accounts (1:50 on Zero), 1:50 on metals, indices and energy, and 1:2 on crypto; since March 2026 leverage on metals, indices and energy scales down with position size on Master accounts.

Fees and pricing

Pricing is the main draw. At the time of checking (5 November 2026) list prices for a $5K account start in the mid-$20s for 2-Step Pro and roughly $29–$36 for the standard two-step, while a $100K two-step costs around $400–$530 depending on model and promotion. Frequent discount campaigns move these numbers, so treat any figure as indicative. Trading commissions on the accounts are reported at $5 per lot on FX and metals ($7 on Zero), nothing on indices and energy, and 0.04% on crypto. One third-party review states that the challenge fee is refunded after the fourth successful payout on 1-Step and 2-Step accounts, though not on Zero or 2-Step Pro.

Platforms and instruments

Traders can choose MetaTrader 5, cTrader, Match-Trader or TradeLocker; reviews indicate cTrader carries a small add-on fee while the others are included. MT4 is not offered. The instrument list covers major and minor currency pairs, gold and silver, stock indices, energy contracts and a handful of crypto CFDs, though weekend crypto trading is not allowed.

Trading restrictions to know

The rulebook is long. During evaluation, news trading and weekend holding are generally permitted. On funded Master accounts, profits from trades opened or closed within five minutes of high-impact releases do not count, and the Zero model widens that window to ten minutes. A third-party guide reports that weekend holding on funded accounts has been banned since 29 January 2026, which is stricter than an older help-centre article that still allows it, so verify the current position. Expert advisors are allowed only if you can prove you wrote them, third-party EAs only as trade managers, and VPN/VPS use, hedging across accounts, latency arbitrage and tick scalping are prohibited. A 60% single-idea concentration rule applies to accounts opened after 28 June 2026.

Payouts

Payout requests are typically processed within one to three working days, with a minimum withdrawal of 1% of the starting balance. Reviews say withdrawals are made through Rise or in stablecoins (USDT/USDC) rather than bank wire. A scaling plan and a "Hot Seat" tier can raise total allocation to as much as $2 million, but the criteria for the top tier are not fully published.

Who it suits

FundingPips suits cost-conscious forex and gold traders who want to try a prop evaluation without paying FTMO-level fees, and who value being able to pick their own payout rhythm. It is less suitable for news traders, swing traders who hold over weekends, users of off-the-shelf EAs, or anyone who wants futures.

Verdict

FundingPips combines low prices, no time limits and a broad platform choice with a large and mostly positive review base. Against that, the 2024 shutdown, frequent rule changes in 2026 and a strict set of funded-account restrictions mean traders need to read the current terms carefully. It is a reasonable, low-cost option for disciplined intraday forex traders, provided you remember it is an unregulated evaluation service and only risk a fee you can afford to lose.
